Samsung announced today that it has begun mass production of 3D panels for LCD and LED backlit TVs.
The new 3D screens will come in 40-, 46- and 55inch sizes. All are designed to be used with Active Shutter glasses and have a frame rate of 240Hz.
The new displays claim to have a 20 per cent faster response time than conventional glass, at 4 milliseconds.
Samsung says that this eliminates any interference between left and right eye images, giving smooth, convincing pictures with genuine depth.
Wonkie Chang, Samsung’s LCD business president says: '3D displays have captured the industry spotlight. We aim to lead the global 3D TV panel market in pioneering panel mass production for 3D LED and LCD TVs.’
