Zombies eat DOG in Dead Set horror drama

The use of persistent Digital Onscreen Graphics by TV channels has long irritated TV viewers, but could the practice be falling out of favour with programme creatives as well?

In what could be trend-setting move the makers of the upcoming TV zombie epic Dead Set have asked E4 to remove its branding during the transmission of the show.

Zeppotron maintains that E4’s branding would confuse viewers as the drama, about the contestants in a Big Brother reality show who are unaware of a zombie holocaust engulfing the world outside, switches between scenes inside and outside the house.

Zeppotron says that the five part series will also air without end credits: ‘With the amount of prosthetics, special effects and stunt crews, Dead Set has longer credits than the average TV show. The full cast and crew will be credited at the end of episode five,’ said a spokesman. Dead Set has been written and created by Guardian columnist Charlie Brooker.

on screen graphics

i just want ALL the graphics to go, go back to the 'before MTV' style of presenting tv, we are not morons, we know what channel we want to watch and dont need constant reminding of which channel we are on or what is coming on next....

on screen logos

Funny how they turn them off during the adverts though...

Why can't they make them

Why can't they make them time out like the red button or even an option to switch them off all together. We pay an awful lot of money for TV these days, the viewers should have the choice about what is plastered all over their programs. In the age of bigger screens, these nusances are just getting bigger and more anoying. C'mon broadcasters, listen to your viewers!! Does anyone (outside of the broascating companys) actually agree with them?

on screen logos

why do they think we need to have a logo on the screen which is distracting, most people have an info button on the remote which brings up channel name and now and next info.In the early days of plasma tv,s i had a hitachi 42" £3,500 plasma tv completely ruined (screen burn) by a stupid logo on a well known kids channel. Channel five have introduced a new really annoying logo in the top left hand corner. Its very vivid and bright and is totally un necessary.
