Cult horror author releases terror tale... on toilet rolls

HCC News Team's picture

The author of popular j-horror movie hit Ringu, aka The Ring, Koji Suzuki, has written a new terror tale, entitled Drop. In itself, this news is perhaps not overly surprising. What makes Drop stand out from the crowd is that it’s being published on toilet paper. Yep. The nine chapter novella is being issued in Japan on special edition toilet rolls.

Appropriately, Drop is set in a Japanese loo, and apparently plays on cultural fears of a restroom ‘boogie’ man, eager to pull unsuspecting dumpsters around the U-bend. Each chapter occupies around 90cm of paper – just about consumable in the average ‘sitting’. Rolls sell for 210 yen. Drop is described by maker Hayashi Paper as ‘a horror experience in the toilet.’
Innovative undoubtedly, but we’re not sure we actually want to see this particular Suzuki short made into a movie anytime soon…

Bad puns ahoy: Should that

Bad puns ahoy:

Should that be "Bog"ie" man.

Another thing "boogie man" just makes me think of a bloke who dances a lot. Is there going to be a monster that does does some shocking dance moves. Thiller video comes to mind for some reason.
